Application
DupeSafe processes your files on your computer. File names, contents, scan results and recovered data are never sent to a server. The application contains no telemetry, advertising or analytics.
It connects to the internet only in these cases:

Android app
DupeSafe for Android is free and has no internet permission: it cannot send any data off your phone. There is no account, advertising, analytics or telemetry. Your photos, videos, music and documents are read only on the phone, to find copies.

Kept on the phone, in the app's own storage: a cache that speeds up comparisons (file checksums and picture fingerprints), the history of removals and your settings. They are deleted when you uninstall the app; Settings → Clear cache deletes the cache at any time.
Photos, videos and music you remove go to Android's trash; the system asks every time and deletes them for good after 30 days. Android 10 and earlier have no such trash, so there they are moved to a "DupeSafe Trash" folder at the top of the phone's storage (the gallery leaves it out). Documents are moved to a "DupeSafe Trash" folder in the folder you added. What is in DupeSafe's trash folders is deleted after 30 days or when you empty it. Everything can be brought back from History within that time.
iPhone app
DupeSafe for iPhone is free and contains no network code: it cannot send any data off your iPhone. There is no account, advertising, analytics or telemetry. Your photos and videos are read only on the iPhone, to find copies.

Kept on the iPhone, in the app's own storage: the history of removals and your settings. They are deleted when you uninstall the app.
Photos and videos you remove go to the Recently Deleted album in Photos; iOS asks every time and deletes them for good after 30 days. You can bring them back from there within that time.
Website and payments
This site uses no cookies or analytics; it only counts how many times each file is downloaded per day, and records nothing about who downloads it. "Buy us a coffee" payments are processed by Stripe; your card details never reach us. Stripe's privacy policy is shown on the checkout page. Your e-mail address is used through Resend to send the key of a license bought earlier again. A message sent through the contact form is kept only to answer it.
What we store
- E-mail address and Stripe transaction record of those who buy us a coffee
- Records of licenses sold earlier (e-mail address, Stripe transaction id) and the code, name and timestamps of the devices they were activated on
- Device code and date of the trial start sent by version 1.9.1 and earlier
This data is kept for the statutory retention periods. Servers are hosted in the European Union and the United States.
Your rights
Under GDPR and Turkish data protection law (KVKK) you may request access to, correction of and deletion of your data. Write to info@dupesafe.com; we answer within 30 days.
