Duplicate finders were not careful enough. So we built one that is.
DupeSafe is developed by Karınca Digital Ltd in London. It has one job: find what is redundant on your computer and delete only what is proven.
Why DupeSafe
Most tools fall to one of two extremes: they either find only byte-identical files and miss re-encoded photos, or they delete whatever they call "similar" automatically. DupeSafe separates the two: perceptual matching when finding, locked byte-by-byte verification when deleting. Data recovery gets the same care; no score is invented for a file whose data is gone.
Our principles
No deletion without proof
A file is deleted only when it is byte-identical to a copy that stays, and only while that copy is locked. Name, date and folder are not proof.
Data stays on your computer
File names, contents and scan results never reach a server. There is no telemetry, advertising or analytics.
Limits are written down
What cannot be found, which formats are unsupported and when an operation stops are all documented.
Reversibility
Every deleted file goes to the Recycle Bin and can be restored from History. Permanent deletion is opt-in, from Settings.
